30 September 2016 – Mutual Logistics, a logistics and transport services provider, is inaugurating its multi-distributor and multi-industrial distribution centre in Attignat, a few kilometres from Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain).
Attignat, the largest temperature-controlled logistics hub
Spanning 21,000 m², it is the largest deep-freeze facility in France. Dedicated to frozen food products, it handles nearly 10% of the French market and 35% of the local market, as it supplies 1,000 retail outlets in the Grand Est, Burgundy–Franche-Comté and Auvergne– Rhône-Alpes regions.
Multi-distributors and multi-industrial companies, it already welcomes Carrefour and Système U, but also industrial companies such as Bionatis, Boncolac, Bondolce, Glacière Narbonnaise, la Gerbe Savoyarde, Kerry Ingredients, Mantua, Neuhauser, Prolainat, Rolli, Sole Moi and Yetigel.
This platform, which employs 180 people, required an investment of 10 million euros.
Mutualisation, the cornerstone of Mutual Logistics' success
As explained by Vincent Denis, founder and president of Mutual Logistics: «We want to become the leader in logistics and transport pooling in France and create a real break in the organisation of distribution channels for frozen goods, groceries, wines and DPH products.»
By pooling the logistical assets of its distribution platforms and by consolidating storage and transport, Mutual Logistics reduces costs and improves the competitiveness of its clients. To achieve this, the group can rely on its Attignat site for frozen products, but also on the Orléans site where it manages a multi-distributor and multi-manufacturer platform of 34,000 m2 dedicated to fast-moving consumer goods. «These two flagship sites are set to be duplicated in order to offer a dense and uniform network across the whole country,» continues Vincent Denis.
