Mutual Logistics signs with Système U

The Mutual Logistics Groupa logistics services provider, has won the tender launched by Système U

to handle frozen food logistics for 200 of its shops in the East of France. The U supermarkets and hypermarkets is currently delivered by two warehouses located at Strasbourg and, in Lyon. Their activities will be grouped together in the Multi-Distributor and Multi-Industry Distribution Centre at Mutual Logistics in Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain).

With this in mind, the capacity of the Bourg-en-Bresse site will be increased by almost 70%. The current surface area of 12,600 m2 will thus be increased to more than 21,100 m2.
The Mutual Logistics site in Bourg-en-Bresse will be France's first Multi-Distributor and Multi-Industry Distribution Centre for frozen foodswith more than 1,000 sales outlets stocking up.
Mutual Logistics estimates that volumes from its site will account for more than a third of the mass retail market in its catchment area, or around 10% of the national market.
Système U Central Est has chosen Mutual Logistics for its unique expertise in the pooling of logistics assets. In particular, it expects to derive structural benefits from the synergies in flows and stocks that Mutual Logistics will be implementing on behalf of the various companies.

Given the attractiveness of the volumes processed in its Distribution Centre At the Bourg-en-Bresse Multi-Distributor and Multi-Industrial site, Mutual Logistics is already preparing to market a third construction phase.
The signing of this contract with one of the France's leading retailers is a key step in the development of the Mutual Logistics Group, validating its strategy based on the pooling of logistics assets.
